Stuff Portrait Friday- 80's Flashback

Something from the 80's that I won't give up:


This is me circa 1989. I'm "Hangin' Tough" with Donnie Whalberg from New Kids On The Block. I fucking love them. If you make fun of them, I will cut you.

My favorite book from the 80's is Green Eggs and Ham. I know it was first published in 1960, but I got it in 1980 and I'm still diggin' it. If you haven't read it, then we can't be friends.

My favorite movie from the 80's is Dirty Dancing. I probably have seen it about 300 times. I made the husband watch it before I would marry him.

Nobody puts Baby in the corner.

I LOVE Dirty Dancing! I have probably seen that movie more times than any other except Dead Poets Society. Sweet.

This post is appropos in so many ways. I own Dirty Dancing, and make Joe sit through the final dance scene whenever the mood hits me. And I am watching the Sexiest TV moments on Bravo, and they just showed a scene from the movie there.
Then there's the WonderWoman underwear. I had matching top and bottoms and somewhere exists a pic of me wearing them.
Not to mention that I knew the words to every New Kids single. Though I never met any of them.

What, you all shared the same underpants? Did everybody get to use them on a certain day?

The fact that you actually got to fondle each of the New Kids on their Blocks does a lot to make them suck slightly less for me than they did when I had to endure two pre-teen girls blasting "Step by Step" on my stereo, which was perfectly capable of playing real music. Slightly less.

And Bucky, I can't post pictures of who I was doing in the '80's, either. but it's a good bet she wasn't wearing Wonder Woman underoos. At least, not after the first few minutes.

Mhm, I watch the sureal life. I pop popcorn and watch the sureal life and if anyone bugs me I make the hubby take the kids elsewhere.
Who cares if I TIVO it, I must not miss a second.


And Direty Dancing is one of my favorite movies also.

I am so totally jealous. I had 29 New Kids t-shirts, I had the sleeping bag, the bed comforter.. you name it, I had it. Hey Bente, my favorite was also Joe. I spent 5 years writing I love Joey on everything I owned, and then I married a guy named Joe. Weird huh?
